The severely injured dog was discovered in the Turkish city of Samsun and rescued by members of the local Animal Rights Association. Immediately, it was taken to a private veterinary clinic for emergency treatment. The veterinarians recorded heartbreaking footage of the dog looking distressed and in pain. When the person behind the camera touched the dog’s injured area, it reacted strongly to protect itself as a reflex.

Veterinarian Mustafa Kanat said: “It looks like the dog’s leg was amputated with a sharp instrument. The remaining bone is not in good condition and it may not be able to support a prosthesis.” The puppy can move using a wheelchair and its hind legs. But I feel deeply sorry, there are no words to express it.

The police have launched an investigation but have yet to apprehend the person who cut off the poor dog’s leg.
